We LOVE the Gentry Zoo. It's the only place in the world I have found that lets you play with their wildlife. Since having the kids, we have gotten to play with Kangaroos (with babies in their pouches even!), baby cows, huge pigs, baby piglets, gobs of goats, baby Lama things, monkeys, baby Ligers, lion cubs, snakes, donkeys, and peacocks. Those are the things we have actually touched, held, chased, and fed. Amazing.
It's awesome having this place so close because our Noah is an animal lover. He has no fear and they seem to gravitate to him like a male Cinderella. It's hilarious. I guess in the sense of his name, he never would have minded God telling him to live on a boat for 40 years with every animal created! I seriously think if they let him pitch a tent in the massive goat/pig/lama/cow/kangaroo area, he would with a happy content heart - and never come home.
Today was no different. We literally got to play with 2 lion cubs that were super vivacious, hyper, and talkative (they said it was their growl).
Then when we went to look at the Tigers (they have tons), we happened to be there at feeding time and were the only ones around! We sat and watched them fight over food, and devour their meat. It was fabulous. And the lions were all prowling around because they were next in line to eat. All the animals wee so lively today - it was great!
Because of the hand-on aspect you get at this cozy little place, it is just leaps and bounds better than big commercial zoos (IMO).
Loved the sweet friends we went with!!!
This picture cracks me up because I feel like my baby looks SO old!
