Dedication

This morning was Lincoln's baby dedication at church. We go to a fairly young church, so baby dedications are the norm...I'll admit I think of them as a "normal" process, something you "do" when you have a baby. Yes - it's a good thing, but really - have I ever really sat down and contemplated the fullness of what it means to dedicate your baby, YOUR baby (as I so naturally want to think of it)???? Over the past few months Jason and I have grappled with this concept, prayed for it out of faith, come to terms with just what dedicating our child to the Creator means...Lord, could we really have had the faith to be obedient to Your command to sacrifice our only son like Abraham was??
But just as we are not ours, Lincoln is not ours either.
He truly is a gift, in every essence of the word.
Lord help us to remember that each day of our lives from here on out, in whatever path you decide to take us on, Lincoln is YOURS...praise the Lord, He belongs to YOU.

"And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him." Luke 2:40

Here are some highlights (as always). :)

Lincoln, poppin' his collar...

3 generations (more people to spoil the little guy!)

And then...enough. Funny, but the little guy is WORN OUT today. He's on this third nap for the day, and 20 more minutes will make 3 hours on this one alone!

What a wonderful morning! And what a fantastic reminder of the huge responsibility of raising our kids in the Lord. Beautiful pictures!
