well we met on October 20, 2006, got engaged January 25, 2007, and married March 17, 2007. That's 5 months total of knowing each other for the math-impaired. :)

What about pets?
most definitely. Benny (whom I brought into the marriage), then our two rescue dog labs - Big Papi & the latest addition, Mr. Bruce Wayne

Are you from the same hometown?
know...I consider myself from a few different hometowns and he's from Crossett (which I never knew existed until we got married!)

Who is the smartest?
Depends on what we're talking about...Politics - JASON, hands down; Academics - I think we'd both agree I am; on reading people and common sense in general? I'd say that's about a tie. :)

Who is the most sensitive?
right now probably me b/c of I have a baby growing inside of me...but without "pregnant" me, I'd say Jason is actually. I love it about him.

Where is the first place you went to eat as a couple?
Dawn Hill Country Club - also where our reception was.

What was the first movie you saw together?
Oh wow - we see SO MANY movies and I can't remember this one!

um, no...

We both having some pretty amazing friends in our lives

neither one of us have tempers thank God!

Who does the cooking?
Honestly, probably Jason b/c we grill all the time and he always does that - love you for it babe! but here lately I've been cooking at least one night a week!!! For me that's good :)

Who is more social?
Jason - NO DOUBT. He could be friends with a brick wall, is incredibly loyal, and is always the last person to leave anywhere we go - one of the biggest adjustments in our marriage since I'm usually the one that sneaks out the door BEFORE the event's over!

Who is the most affectionate?
Jason...

Who hogs the bed?
Benny when he tries to "sneak up" in the middle of the night...you can't "sneak" though when you're a 50lb beagle!!

We both wake up at the same time cause we both work in schools

How did you spend your 1st anniversary?
My favorite place - The Melting Pot...we really wanted to do the whole Jamaica thing again, but our anniversary was in the middle of all the state final stuff since they won this year...and we didn't have any money :)

definitely Jason!

How do you spend the holidays?
Still trying to figure that one out...last year we went to his parent's and did Christmas on Christmas Eve, then drove to my place early Christmas morning for Christmas stuff/dinner that night w/ my family. But now that Baby Lincoln will be here, we've yet to really set on a plan. I think we'll probably do everything the same, except come back Christmas Eve and spend Christmas at our own house that morning, then my family that night. I want to start traditions in our own house w/ our family on Christmas morning!

I would never describe either of us as jealous people

We love history stuff and suspense...like war movies or psychological thriller ones

I think I'm more goofy and Jason's more sarcastic funny...

Can Stress Induce Labor????

If so, Lincoln should be here by morning!!! Okay I guess that was my pathetic attempt to stay positive in the midst of utter CHAOS!!! Between work and personal situations, I'm hoping at least early delivery can come from all of this...

It has been on hell of a past week to put it lightly. Without boring you w/ details, my job is more stressful than it's ever been...I'm working harder than I ever have and dealing w/ more insanity than deemed reasonable, and shouldn't I be starting to take it easy at this point, being 9 freaking months pregnant???! My husband says so, but it seems like people have just been waiting for the perfect opportunity to decide..."hmmm...now that she's 9 months pregnant and trying to tie up all loose ends before Lincoln's arrival - I think NOW would be the perfect time to have complete breakdowns!!" Why??? seriously???! But I can handle it (I have to).

But on to more serious stuff, there's been some pretty major developments that I can't particularly mention at this time, that is the most stressful of all - situations that I know God is in control of, but it just seems hopeless and He seems hard to find. Jason and I are being faithful to prayer and hoping to see purpose through all of this. But nonetheless, did I mention things have been stressful lately????

Oh yeah - and i ripped a muscle in my upper abdomen because of my growing belly and not much room for it to go...this accounts for sleepless nights, major pain when sitting or lying down, and numbness. Fun.

So what to be thankful for...? That's easy :)

1. I have the most amazing husband in the world - and I'm not exaggerating. It brings tears to my eyes to think about how perfect for me he is and ho blessed I have been to have him as a part of my life. I think it's something I take for granted way too often. I know this sounds cheesy, but he is just such a rock and no matter how stressful things get, he's always stable. It's so comforting and relaxing to know I get to come home to him every day. :) I love you baby!!!

2. Baby Lincoln is healthy and should be here within the month!!!!!!!!! No dilation yet...I got the pleasure of having that check yesterday (a LOT more painful than I thought thanks to a deep uterus, apparently - yeah).

3. Another baby shower this weekend!! Can't wait to see everyone in Crossett!!!

And I WILL take pictures this weekend - promise!

Showers...the rain kind and the fun kind

Lots of showers this weekend both thanks to Baby Linclna and Mr. Ike :) Though the whole tropical storm threat was a bit of a let-down here considering all they were saying was suppose to happen...but baby Lincoln's shower was far from a let-down! It was so much fun and such a blessing to see everyone that supports us through all of this! I think there ended up being a little over 30 people there throughout the afternoon - thanks guys SO much!!!!! We got some really fun stuff that I came home and immediately started going through and putting away - I can't believe how close it's all getting! As of today I am 34 weeks - you know what that means??? He's full and healthy and if I went into labor, he wouldn't be considered premature anymore and they wouldn't stop my labor from here on out!! We are going to "pack a bag" sometime this week (scary), but I don't think that's all that critical considering I'm not sure the hospital even passes the one mile mark from our house. But we'll do it anyway. :)
And this is truly TERRIBLE, but I don't even think I have many pictures from yeterday!! My sister got a few, but literally like 2 I think. I told you - I'm terrible at this whole documenting thing!
But we have one more shower coming up in two weeks at Jason's church in his hometown...I promise to have some then! And I am going to try and take a buch this week, as well, I decided. Dan should be finishing up the crib today and then we'll ahve all the furniture in the room! So exciting!
And how about this freaking weather??!!! My gosh I'm LOVING it!!!!!!
So God has been amazing this weekend...of course He's always amazing, but there's been some trying times in the midst of the fun going on this weekend that we have really been able to cling to Him about and watch Him provide and be the Rock in the midst of unstability. I am so thankful for Hope, thankful for my unbelievably wise and patient husband (who has to wade through the hormones!!) and crazy thankful just for family in general. :)

Giuliani Needs to Retire From Civilization

So watching the Republican National Convention and seriously is Guiliani one of the most annoying, living, breathing organisms on the face of the earth? I think so. I would like to throw rocks at him. And not just because I like Obama...no - because Rudy-tudy's stupid and ignorant and has to spend the majority of his allotted time trying to convince me why I shouldn't vote for Obama instead of WHY I should vote for McCain. Way to go buddy. He ended his speech saying something like, "And that's why you should vote for McCain!" Um, no...I think you actually left that part out Rudy.
As odd as it is and as after being the topic of many conversations I've been in the past few days, I will admit, I actually like Palin (which is a big admission considering my feelings about McCain). She seems nice - kind of in a high school English teacher kind of way - but nonetheless, I do like her. Now fit to run our country? Yeah, not so convinced on that one yet...but I love someone's giving ole Hilary a run for her money :) Now that will always make me smile.

alright, well that's all about that.

how about the rain!!! wow. I love it though cause the temps were in the 60's all day!!! Us pregnant women LOVE that.

Oh yeah - looks like we might be adding two members to our family by the end of October. One's furry, has stolen our hearts, and after days of debates back and forth in our minds we've both become a little too attached. Oops. We're crazy, we know.

Been a LONG TIME!

Wow...there were many times I've thought about writing in here but things have been SO busy lately, I haven't had the chance! So let's see how well I can update without rambling or boring anyone to tears.

1. We got a new car last weekend!!! It might sounds stupid cause it's the furthest thing from economical, but as upside down as we were w/ Jason's going out, we got an AMAZING deal on a great car that gets crappy gas mileage. But we have the Camry we take everywhere and Jason only drives this around town...take a look:

2. We also rescued a puppy last week. He doesn't have a name b/c I don't want to get attached to the little guy. It's not smart to keep a puppy when you already have 2 dogs and a baby on the way in the next couple of months, right? I keep trying to tell myself that, but look at his face?! He is even more precious than what he looks like! I wish he had an annoying personality or was mean or something, but he's perfect! He was left for dead on the highway, skin and bones, and now he's as lively as ever and loving his change of luck in life! But he needs a GOOD HOME (preferably w/ someone we already know) so let me know if you're interested.

3. As of tomorrow I'm 8 months pregnant! Can you believe it?!!!!

4. Michelle got married this weekend...it was beautiful and they were gorgeous!! Congrats to them!

5. Jason's parents and brother came in for the first Razorback game...it was fun to see them and show them what we have for the baby's room and how we're getting ready for baby Lincoln's arrival!

6. Work has sucked lately. :( It's been SO stressful b/c they're making us use a system that DOESN'T WORK and thus I have been putting in 12-hour days some nights! I broke down and started crying in my office on Thursday and said I've had enough. So from now one, until it's fixed, I'm using the old system regardless of what they say. I'm not going to keep torturing myself w/ crazy, unnecessary hours that go unpaid for.

7. This morning church was great! I helped lead worship and I always love getting the opportunity to do that...

8. Jason's gone to OKC for today and tomorrow for none other than the traditional Fantasy Football Draft - apparently it's a BIG deal????

So I guess that kind of sums up what's been going on the past couple of weeks...not much, but SO busy and limited sleep. Oh well. He have another doc appointment Thursday - I always love those to see how our little boy is growing! I'll let ya know how it goes.

30 Weeks Doc Appointment

It's been about a month and a half since we've gotten to see baby Lincoln, so I was excited to see his little body today! Everything looks great - great heartbeat, lots of movement, and LONG legs! I guess what did I expect w/ a husband who's 6'5''? The funny thing is that I was looking at the monitor and saw the date "10-13-08"...which is 2 weeks before our due date! Doc said that according to the size of Lincoln right now, that's when he would normally be due. But he said that his due date still remains the same...I just could have an 8+ pound baby at this rate! ouch.


But it was all good news today and I have gained a total of 19 pounds with a couple of months left to go!! My hope is to stay around 25 lbs weight gain, but not more than 30...so I think I'm on track for that. Walking at my fast pace is getting a lot harder these days...we went tonight and where i usually go about 4 miles, I was able to go only 2. But that's fine - I have a big baby holding me down! :)


We do have a significant prayer request - the childcare we had lined up doesn't look like it's going to work out like we thought which was very upsetting and highly unfortunate, but I know God will provide. So keep that in your prayers for us and if you know anyone in the area who keeps just a couple of kids or would like to start doing it in January - let me know!!!!

Been a While...

Wow...it's been a while before I've had a chance to write on this thing! Last week was insanely busy...I worked an average of 10 hours a day (that's an average which means there were a couple of 12-hour days in there!). But the good news is that next week while everyone's starting school, I am not going to be working much. :) I love the flexibility in my job!
Our car situation still isn't fixed...we're still a one-car family! But we're making headway on some potential cars...the whole situation just stinks. But I know God will provide!

Baby Lincoln is doing good!! We have an appointment this Tuesday and I'm so excited because I haven't gotten to see him in a while! We finished up our childbirth classes this past Saturday. Now I have the breastfeeding class to go to...but I told Jason he doesn't have to sit through that one. :)

So as you can tell, there's a reason I haven't written in a while - nothing too exciting going on! I'll be happy when things slow down next week. And how about the Olympics?!!! This is the first time in many years I have been crazy into watching them - it's been fun.
